Service Learning
Service learning is optional for elementary students, but is a good way for them to see how they can impact their community. It helps students build character by allowing them to foster and develop personal values, beliefs, awareness, self-esteem, confidence, and a sense of empathy and social responsibility. Service learning is based on a reciprocal relationship in which service in the community reinforces and strengthens learning in the classroom, and classroom experiences reinforce and strengthen interaction in the community.
There will also be service learning updates and suggested activities sent out regularly in the Buzz Blast. Our goal is to help your child discover ways to help their community!
